The blend
Cumin, mint and black salt ground into a cooling, tangy powder that dissolves straight into water. Built to be mixed rather than cooked, so the balance is set for a drink rather than a dish.
How it is used
Stirred into chilled water for jal jeera, used over chaats, and mixed into buttermilk and summer drinks. Demand is strongly seasonal, peaking through the hot months.
Demand is sharply seasonal, running from roughly March through to the end of the monsoon. Distributors in hotter states typically take the bulk packs ahead of summer rather than reordering through it.
