Toor Dal

Split pigeon peas, cleaned, graded and polished before packing so they cook evenly and hold their colour. Toor is the most widely eaten dal in India, which makes consistency more important here than almost anywhere else in the range: a retailer notices a bad lot immediately.

The base of everyday dal across most of India, used in sambar, dal fry and dal tadka. Bought by retailers, canteens, caterers and restaurant kitchens.
